Dallas Region (Belmont v. Georgia) Preview

The University of Georgia women's basketball team will be the first of the SEC teams to see NCAA action when they take on Belmont University (No. 14 seed) this Saturday, March 17, 2007. The game will take place at the Williams Arena in Minneapolis, MN and will be televised on ESPN. Tip off is slated for 1:30 pm. EST (time is approximate). This is Belmont's first trip to the big dance and it will be the first meeting between the two programs.
The winner of this game will play the winner of the Iowa State/Washington game on Monday, March 19 in the second round.
A few facts about the Belmont Bruins
The Bruins are on a hot streak, winning eight of it's last nine games. Keep an eye on sophomore forward, Alysha Clark who is a two-time A-Sun Player of the Year and 2007 Tournament MVP as she is the anchor of this young Bruin squad. Alysha is fourth in the nation in rebounds (12.7) and seventh in field-goal percentage (58.7). She is also holds the Atlantic Sun Conference and team leader in points and rebounds.
Interesting Tidbit: Belmont located six blocks from the Vanderbilt campus.
