What could be better than winning your third game in a row? Just ask head coach Nell Fortner of the Auburn Tigers.
On Monday morning, the Auburn women's team returned to the AP Poll at No. 24 after a four year drought. It also marks the first time the Tigers have been ranked under Fortner who took the helm in 2004. Auburn also received votes in the ESPN/Coaches and AP Poll last week and in the preseaon. And, those in the know -- know our very own SECWB writers poll ranked Auburn in not only in preseason (No. 23) but for the past two weeks. In fact, the Tigers are doing so well that this week they moved up to No. 22 on our poll!
Coach Quote: "We are excited about the ranking," head coach Nell Fortner said. "It has taken a lot of hard work to get where we are and it will take even more work to keep improving. It is nice to see our efforts start to pay off, but it is all about what you do on the floor and how you perform in games. I know this will be exciting for our team and it will continue to motivate us to do our very best every time we get on the floor."
Our congratulations go out to Coach Fortner and the entire Auburn team! Go Tigers!!!
