Delaware State v. Vanderbilt Preview

The SEC Tournament Champion Commodores will face off against Delaware State on Sunday, March 18, 2007. The game will take place in East Lansing, Michigan and will be televised on ESPN2. Tip off is slated for 12 pm. EST (time is approximate). This is the first NCAA tournament appearance for Delaware State and the first time both meet.
The winner will face either No. 7 seeded Bowling Green or No. 10 seed Oklahoma State on Tuesday, March 20, 2007.

A few facts about Delaware State Delaware State faced both Texas A&M and North Carolina this year in regular season play and were pretty much dessimated in both games. Texas A&M beat the Hornets by 27 (70-43) on December 20, 2006 and eight days later North Carolina took another swat winning by a 47 point margin (87-40).
Coach Ed Davis said a rough non-conference schedule prepared Delaware State for the NCAA tournament. "The kids understand the atmosphere because they've played in it," Davis said. "We know what the upper-level opponents can do." Coach Davis led Bowie State to three NCAA Division II tournaments before joining the Hornets in 2000.
Raquel Collier leads Delaware State with 13.6 points per game. Katreem Palmer is averaging 11.4 points and a team-high 7.2 rebounds.
