Price in rare company after Mississippi win

STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi guard Armintie Price joined an elite group with 18 points in a win over Mississippi State on Sunday.

Price passed the 2,000-point mark, becoming the fifth player in NCAA women's basketball history with more than 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 300 steals and 300 assists. Cheryl Miller of Southern Cal, Tennessee's Chamique Holdsclaw and Tamika Catchings, and Sophia Young of Baylor are the other players in the exclusive group.

Price made the winning shot with 3.1 seconds left in overtime in Mississippi's 86-84 victory over the Bulldogs (16-11, 6-6 Southeastern Conference). The 5-foot-9 senior also had 11 rebounds and eight assists for the Rebels (20-8, 9-4).
