Going for their fourth straight win tonight, the No. 24 Auburn Tigers take on the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in Oakland at 6:00 p.m. EST.
The Tigers are are hitting the glass hard this season, out-rebounding their opponents by a margin of 15 and stirring things up on the floor causing 26.3 turnovers per game. But it doesn't end there. They've also limited their opponents to 33.9 percent shooting from 3-point range and a 41.5 percentage overall. In their last two games, Auburn is sinking the shots at 50.5 percent and 41.5 percent overall from beyond the arc.
Leading the Tigers on both sides of the ball is junior DeWanna Bonner, who is very close to averaging a double-double with 21.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. Along with SEC Freshman of the week, Alli Smalley (13.3 ppg) and four other players (Whitney Boddie (12.0), Sherell Hobbs (10.7) and Tamela McCorvey (10.7)) are averaging in double digits. Smalley was named SEC Freshman of the Week this week after shooting 80 percent vs. UAB (93-66) and was 4-of-6 from behind the arc. In that same game, Bonner scored a career-high 31 points.
OAKLAND
