COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Following five USA Basketball Women's National Team Trials sessions that were conducted May 19-21 in Colorado Springs, Colo., USA Basketball announced Sunday that 15 finalists for the USA Women's U19 World Championship and 16 finalists for the USA Women's World University Games teams had been selected. Ole Miss rising junior Armintie Price was selected as an alternate for the USA World University Games team. The finalists were selected by the USA Basketball Women's Collegiate Committee, chaired by Sue Donohoe, NCAA vice-president for Division I women's basketball.
"It was quite an accomplishment for Armintie to be selected as an alternate," said Ole Miss head coach Carol Ross, who is an assistant coach for the USA U19 World Championship team. "There were a lot of veterans of USA Basketball trying out for her team. She made quite an impression on the staff. She did great job of representing herself and Ole Miss." Read more.
